Given the situation in South Africa regarding the COVID-19 virus we felt it was important to reassure you that we are continuing to keep our practice clean and safe for both you and our team.
As a dental practice, we work in an environment where the prevention of a whole range of infections is woven into everything we do. We are therefore committed to doing whatever we can to play a part in the containment of the COVID-19 virus. Our dental rooms continue to practice full infection control. Everything is wiped down with surface disinfectant before and after each patient. All instruments are sterilized in an autoclave (heat sterilization). We are also equipped with personal protective equipment to ensure your safety and the safety of our team.

Should I keep my Dental Appointment?
As per SADA regulations, it is important during this time that we attend to dental concerns to avoid deterioration of your oral health. The mouth is the gateway to the whole body. In order to have a healthy body, you need a healthy mouth. If your gums and teeth are unhealthy your immune system will be occupied in fighting off that disease and will leave you vulnerable to other diseases such as the corona virus. For example, the buildup of calculus around your teeth and gums lead to an inflammatory condition that may compromise your immune system.
The health and well-being of our patients are our primary concern. Many of our patients may be overdue for a health check and scale and polish. We encourage you to have your 6-monthly check and clean done. Don’t put it off. It is a simple procedure that will keep you healthy during this crucial time. Allow us to help keep your immune system strong.
If you are concerned about bleeding gums, sore gums or bad breathe it is important that you book an appointment for a health check. These are signs of inflammation that need to be attended to as soon as possible.

If you have flu-like symptoms, please book your appointment only when you have confirmed that you do not have Covid-19 and are healthy.
Patients that have travelled overseas or have been in contact with a Covid-19 Positive Patient:
If you have travelled overseas in the last 14 days, we advise that you self-isolate and ensure that you are healthy before booking your appointment with us.
If you have been in contact with a Covid-19 positive person, please ensure that you get tested for Covid-19. Please ensure that you also self-isolate for 14 days or until your test comes back negative before booking an appointment with us.
In the case of a dental emergency, please give us a call so that we can assist you with every precaution in place.
At your next appointment:
To ensure your safety and that of our staff, hand sanitizer is provided at the door. Please sanitize as you enter.
Please wear your mask at all times when entering the building and the practice. The dentist will inform you when it is safe to remove your mask.
During this pandemic, only patients are allowed in the practice unless a minor/elder needs to be accompanied.
Please ensure that you sit on different chairs in our waiting room in order to practice social distancing.
Please forgive us if we don’t shake hands. We may however give you a friendly wave, or elbow bump on request 😊
You will notice that some non-essential items such as the children’s books and magazines are missing from reception. They will return once everything is back to normal.
As a team we are doing all we can to stay fit and healthy so that we can continue to provide you with high standard dental care.
