Crowns and bridges

These are fixed prosthetic devices that are moulded onto existing teeth or implants and can only be removed by a dentist. These can be used for cosmetic reasons such as shaping and the alignment of your teeth. Ceramic crowns and bridges can be matched to the colour of your natural teeth. Other materials used for bridges and crowns include gold and acrylic materials.

Crowns

Crowns protect and cover cracked or damaged teeth. They are like a 'cap' that fits over a weakened or damaged tooth to make it stronger and more aesthetically pleasing. Crowns are a very successful way of restoring damaged or broken teeth. Thanks to the E4D's CAD/ CAM Technology, it is now possible for us to provide you with new metal free crowns in just one hour. This reduces the need for big messy impressions and the hassle of temporary crowns.

Bridges

A bridge is a false tooth used to fill in or bridge the area left by a missing tooth. Conventional dental bridges are made by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. They are cemented in the same way as dental crowns. They are ideal for people who don't like dentures or only have one or two teeth missing. A well-designed and well cared for the bridge will last many years and is an excellent way of replacing teeth.

Bridges can reduce your risk of gum disease, help correct some bite issues and even improve your speech. We can now use E4D CAD/CAM technology to create bridges, which cuts down the amount of time you need to fit a temporary bridge as it is made here at the practice - so you could have your permanent bridge fitted within a few days or less.
